Accelerate Wind is excited to announce that we’ve been accepted to the second ever cohort of the Techstars Alabama EnergyTech Accelerator! We’re looking forward to working with the program’s mentors, supporters, and investors, as well as piloting with the program’s sponsor, Alabama Power. Teams from the first cohort, operating during the pandemic, have been able to collectively raise $25 million dollars since last year’s demo day. .

Accelerate Wind was selected for the US Department of Energy, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Distributed Wind Competitiveness Improvement Project (CIP) for pre-production prototype development. This grant will fund a 2 year project to develop our design and prepare for eventual American Wind Energy Association Certification.

Accelerate Wind is happy to announce that on May 15, 2021 we were awarded a $1,000,000 Phase II SBIR Grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). This funding will kick off a two year project which culminates in a field demo and test of our full-scale unit, designed for mass production.

Accelerate Wind has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant for $225,000 to conduct research and development (R&D) work on the development of our energy-storage based powertrain technology, which will reduce the cost of our rooftop turbine powertrain and help us to optimize power production on the roof.
